red carpet

So aside from being the most awkward awards ceremony ever - the Oscars did provide plenty of eye-candy last night. I thought the dresses were fun and fresh for the most part. I'm eager to hear what you thought, but I was loving all the purple. I never used to be a big purple fan, but starting last year I found myself picking it more and more, and now to see it all over the place, makes me wonder if I was somehow brainwashed into loving it - like 'grellow'

But I do love it... let me know what you think of these lavender frocks.

Mila Kunis in Elie Saab

Scarlett Johansson in Dolce and Gabbana

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy - might be my favorite!

Also donning purple - a pregnant Natalie Portman in Rodarte. Not a fan of this on her at all.

Plenty of red as well on Sandra, Anne and Jennifer and a few big flops from typical style stars. Nicole, I'm looking at you. You too Amy.

And could someone please do a tanning intervention with Gwyneth, Valentino and McConaughey among others?

Who had your favorite look?

  1. I love your picks. Cate Blanchett...gorgeous, but less of the leather shoulder extensions! Like me, you did not pick a strapless which look so boring or is it baring in a close up shot!

  2. Those are LEATHER? I felt bad for Natalie. I think she should have shown off the bump, but I also think skinny girls get more self-conscious about a few pounds where they aren't normally. (I mean, like, arms, not belly.) Scarlett's would be so much better if you couldn't see panty...or if that's not panty, at the very LEAST it's a mistake.

I missed the red carpet, so don't have a favorite yet. But you keep posting so I can catch up. :)

  3. I feel like there was so little to choose from!

Val -I'm actually okay with the leather shoulders, I guess if you're going to go big, go big! My favorite part of the dress was the way it moved when she walked up to present the award. D. referred to this dress as the 'torso window'

    Amy - I can't believe I didn't notice the panties before. yikes...

And yes, I would like to see a little more of the Portman baby bump, I felt like the neckline and all the fabric was just overwhelming on her.

  5. I’m going to read this. I’ll be sure to come back. thanks for sharing. and also This article gives the light in which we can observe the reality. this is very nice one and gives indepth information. thanks for this nice article... large rugs
